Walking down is easy, but walking back up is steep. Here is the full picture so there are no surprises.

The hill, honestly

Guests tell us this all the time:

Would not walk to town as up very steep hill, but they have courtesy cars at set times.

Location is slightly uphill, but honestly that is also what makes the place feel secluded and gives it such a nice view.

The walk down to town takes about fifteen minutes. Walking back up in the heat is hard work, and we do not recommend it after a big night out or for guests with mobility issues. The upside is the reason most guests choose us: it is quiet, it is breezy, and the rooms look over the bay instead of a street.

The free shuttle

• A free resort shuttle runs into Patong. Ask at reception for the day's times and where it picks up.
• Ask at reception the day before if you need a seat at a busy time.
• The shuttle does not run late at night. Coming back from Bangla, use Grab or Bolt, or ask reception to book a taxi. It is a short ride, and you can check the fare in the app before you confirm.

Other ways to get around

• Grab or Bolt: the easiest door-to-door option, any time.
• Scooter: many guests rent one. The hill is fine on a scooter if you are an experienced rider. Wear a helmet and carry your licence.

• Tours and ferries (Phi Phi, James Bond Island, Krabi): reception books them with pickup from the resort.

What is nearby

RICE, our own restaurant, is on site, so dinner does not need a trip down the hill.

Will I hear Bangla Road?

No. We are above the noise of Patong. Rooms closest to the road can pick up some daytime traffic, so ask for a room away from the road when you book. It is easiest to arrange when you book direct.

Who the hill suits, and who it does not

It suits couples, honeymooners, families and anyone who wants Patong's food and nightlife without sleeping on top of it. It does not suit you if you want to walk in and out of town many times a day, or if steep slopes are a problem for you. Read who Baan Yin Dee is not right for.
